Dr. Rahul Banerjee is a physician-researcher who specializes in multiple myeloma, a blood cancer caused by plasma cells that can cause bone and kidney damage. Dr. Banerjee also treats patients with AL amyloidosis, a related but rarer condition that is treated similarly through close collaboration between cancer doctors, kidney doctors, and heart doctors. He has a particular research interest in cellular immunotherapies such as CAR T-cell therapies, where the patient's immune cells are genetically modified to recognize and eliminate tumor cells.
